Commencing with MBA 2016, five programs of MBA have passed out from our university's portals. Many alumni are pursuing their chosen paths in the corporate sector, and some are pursuing higher education in India and abroad.
The university has a robust Alumni Association, which aims to engage with alumni for mutual benefit. Eventually, we would like our Alumni to return frequently to the university.
The School of Commerce & Management Studies aims to establish reskilling programs for alumni, encouraging them to stay associated with changing skills in an uncertain world.
SCMS- PG organizes Career Mapping and Mentorship Forum by Alma Mater on 25th October 2025
The School of Commerce and Management Studies-PG under the Student Advisory and Career Services successfully conducted the “Career Mapping and Mentorship Forum by Alma Mater” on 25th October 2025.
The session featured two distinguished alumni speakers, Mr. Likesh Babu S and Mr. Deepak Kumar Sharma, both MBA graduates from SCMS-PG and currently serving as Officers – Sales & Client Acquisition at Federal Bank.
Through engaging discussions, the speakers shared valuable insights on career planning, professional growth, and leveraging mentorship for success in the corporate world. The interactive Q&A session enabled students to connect directly with the alumni, gaining practical advice and motivation for their career journeys.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Pavithra S, and Prof. Jayashree N, SCMS-PG. The forum received an enthusiastic response from students, making it a meaningful platform for mentorship and alumni engagement.
Alumni Panel Discussion Enlightens MBA Students at SCMS-PG Dayananda Sagar University
The School of Commerce and Management Studies (PG), Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), organized an insightful Alumni Panel Discussion for MBA 2025–2027 students on 27th September 2025. The session aimed to bridge academic learning with real-world corporate exposure. As per Dean- SCMS, Prof. Capt. Nagaraj Subbarao, PhD, alumni interactions are crucial for new MBA students as they offer invaluable mentorship, career guidance, access to professional networks, and insights into industry trends and the specific program. These relationships provide practical advice on navigating the MBA journey and career transitions, help students secure internships and jobs, and give a deeper understanding of the "insider experience" that isn't available online.
The discussion was moderated by Mr. P.N. Jairam, renowned Management Consultant, who guided the engaging conversation among panelists and students. The alumni panel featured Ms. Utpreksha Giri, Assistant System Analyst at TCS, and Ms. Nisarga R, Project Management Consultant at KPMG Global Services. Both alumni shared their professional journeys, emphasizing workplace adaptability, networking strategies, and the importance of continuous learning in shaping successful careers.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Silky Sharma, Alumni Coordinator (SCMS-PG). It witnessed active participation from MBA students and faculty members. Senior Professor Dr. Sai Ganesh felicitated both the alumni members with SCMS Gift hampers as a token of gratitude and shared that the panel discussion served as a valuable platform for students to gain industry insights directly from DSU alumni, reinforcing the university’s commitment to experiential learning and alumni engagement in nurturing future business leaders.
A Session on topic "Gen AI and Emerging Trends" by Industry Expert (SCMS- Alumni)
The School of Commerce and Management Studies (SCMS), Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru organized a two-day expert session titled “Gen AI and Emerging Trends” on 12th and 13th June 2025 taken by Industry Expert and SCMS (PG) Alumni Mr Sunil Kumar G R. Hosted under the banner of the Center for Proficiency Enhancement (COPE) – Digital Transformation and Alumni Relations, this event aimed to expose students to cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, the session promoted awareness, skills, and knowledge vital for navigating the digital transformation in business and society.
This session focused on current and future trends in Artificial Intelligence, highlighting the transformative role of Generative AI in business, creativity, and productivity. The session began with a conceptual overview of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, setting the foundation for understanding how algorithms learn, adapt, and influence decision-making in real-time applications.
The session deep-dived into Generative AI solutions, particularly using Azure OpenAI services such as DALL·E, which demonstrated AI’s capability to generate visual content from textual prompts. The session also introduced Microsoft Copilot, an AI assistant embedded across Microsoft 365 apps, showcasing how generative tools can boost productivity and enhance business communication.
As per Dean- SCMS, Capt. A. Nagaraj Subbarao, PhD, participants were also introduced to the concept of prompt engineering—an emerging skill crucial for effectively interacting with generative AI systems. The session was interactive, hands-on, and aligned with industry expectations, helping students and faculty understand not just the tools but the strategy and ethics behind their implementation.
This session organized by Prof. Mohan Srinivasan and Dr Silky Sharma reflected SCMS’s commitment to fostering a future-oriented learning environment by integrating real-world technologies and global trends into the academic experience.

The School of Commerce and Management Studies (SCMS) at Dayananda Sagar University organized an insightful alumni talk on 30th November 2024, focusing on the topic "Entrepreneur Opportunities and Challenges in Contemporary World " The session featured our esteemed alumni, Mr. Akshay N S, who is currently a Vice president in Wizzy Box Pvt. Ltd.
Akshay N.S. provided valuable insights into the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship, focusing on emerging opportunities in technology-driven markets and the critical challenges that aspiring entrepreneurs face today. He emphasized the importance of innovation, adaptability, and resilience in navigating a rapidly changing global economy.
The talk also included practical advice on identifying market gaps, building a strong team, and leveraging technological advancements to create sustainable business models. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students actively participated, seeking guidance on entrepreneurial ventures and strategies.
The event was highly beneficial for students, inspiring them to explore the entrepreneurial journey with confidence and informed perspectives.

Alumni Talk- "Samwad"
The School of Commerce and Management Studies (SCMS) at Dayananda Sagar University organized an insightful alumni talk on 18th July 2024, focusing on the topic "From Data to Strategy: Transforming Insights into Business Value." The session featured two esteemed alumni, Ms. Pratheeksha Prakash and Ms. Gaganashree A, both serving as Scientific Assistants at Paessler Solutions.
The talk began with a warm welcome from the event organizers, who emphasized the importance of alumni engagement and the value such interactions bring to current students. Ms. Pratheeksha Prakash initiated the session by discussing the fundamental role of data in today's business landscape. She highlighted how data collection, analysis, and interpretation are critical for making informed strategic decisions. Her presentation included real-world examples of how businesses have successfully transformed raw data into actionable insights, leading to significant improvements in their operations and market positioning.
Following this, Ms. Gaganashree A delved into the practical aspects of implementing data-driven strategies. She shared her experiences working on the Network Analysis Intelligence Tool (NAIT) project at Paessler Solutions, illustrating how data analytics can drive innovation and efficiency within an organization. Ms. Gaganashree emphasized the importance of aligning data strategies with business objectives to maximize value creation. Her insights into the challenges and solutions encountered in the field provided valuable lessons for aspiring business analysts and strategists.

Alumni Talk On – Skills for Digital Business
The School of Commerce and Management Studies (SCMS) of Dayananda Sagar University recently organized an Alumni Talk focused on "Skills for Digital Business." The event aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of digital business and the essential skills required for success in this dynamic field.
The distinguished resource persons for the talk were Ms. Sabiha Tameem, a highly esteemed alumna and accomplished Chatbot Developer, and Mr. Chandra Prakash Jha, Manager at Paessler Solutions India.
The seamless coordination of the event was overseen by Dr. Padmalata, a distinguished Professor at SCMS DSU. Her efforts in organizing and facilitating the talk ensured the success of the event.
The event successfully bridged the gap between academia and industry by providing students with practical insights and perspectives from accomplished alumni. Such initiatives play a crucial role in preparing students for the challenges and opportunities in the fast-paced world of digital business.

Samwad- Alumni Guest Talk
School of Commerce and Management Studies, Dayananda Sagar University, under the guidance of Prof. Capt. A. Nagaraj Subbarao (PhD), Dean - School of Commerce and Management Studies, organized Alumni Guest Talk, “Samwad” on 22nd July 2023. The event was organized with aim to foster interaction between current students and distinguished alumni of our institution that is Mr. Ashil Thomas, SEO and Digital Marketing Specialist and Ms. Apoorva Krishnamurthy, Business Analyst. Both have graduated from our institution in 2022 and has since achieved remarkable success in their career. Mr. Ashil’s session revolved around the theme of Digital Marketing, Personality Development, Digital Era which is highly relevant and insightful regarding current students.
Ms. Apoorva Krishnamurthy delivered insightful session on Finance and Analytics. Gave the whereabouts on Analytical Tools, Specialization and analytical view over Corporate. The event received wonderful response and came to closure by felicitation of guest by our Professors Dr Padmalatha and Dr Suresh.
