The College of Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC) at DSU aims to produce a vibrant group of industry-ready media professionals responsive to the growing intellectual needs of society, self and industry.
CJMC offers a bouquet of specializations namely Print, Television and Digital Journalism, Audio-Visual Production, Advertising and Public Relations, Social Media and Digital Marketing, etc. along with the option to pursue academic research in media and communication. The programme is designed to let the students explore their strengths over the three or four years and carve a suitable career pathway.
In addition to the core courses and specializations students are taught Liberal Arts subjects including English Literature, Psychology, Sociology, Economics and Theatre, adhering to NEP, and aligned with the demands of a new-age media industry.
Students are trained in a state-of-the-art studio, and are encouraged to take up part time jobs and have a compulsory summer internship during their third year, to be well-prepared to face the realities and challenges of the dynamic media industry.
With emphasis on personal and academic discipline CJMC promotes ethical practices and universal human values as essential learning components along with imparting cutting-edge skills in new media.
