Centre of Competence for Automation Technologies
Automation Technology labs at Dayananda Sagar University |The technologies dealt in this Centre will be Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC’s, Sensorics, AC Servo drives, CNC Control systems
The Centre will work as an independent Centre serving as Centre of competence and Skill development. Centre being an independent will act on the concept of an Institute in an institute. This Centre will act as the regional Centre in automation technologies to train the Faculty and Students of nearby colleges – Vocational institutes, Polytechnics and Engineering in its Region
.
The Centre will be able to accommodate:
- 32 students for hydraulics and pneumatics.
- 24 for PLC and Sensorics
- 12 for Drives and Control.
Hydraulics:
HYDRA is Greek word means “Water or Fluid ” “Hydraulics is the name given to the branch of physics which treats with the properties, motions and behavior of Fluid or Water ”Hydraulics is one of the drives which is selected based on its salient features wherever found suitable and more efficient. There are only two basic motions in the world; LINEAR and ROTARY.
Pneumatics:
Programmable Logic Controllers:
Sensorics:
CNC:
The IndraControl L is a modular and scalable control. The device combines the benefits of an embedded-PC architecture with a standardized I/O system based on terminal technology. The control is a universal hardware platform that can be used for motion-logic and PLC applications. The hardware is available in system-specific versions and in different performance classes (e.g. with or without SERCOS III interface). The control provides onboard interfaces, e.g. 8 high speed inputs and outputs and communication interfaces, such as SERCOS III, Ethernet, PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, PROFINET, as well as EtherNet/IP. Via the integrated PCI bus, additional modules extend the Indra‐Control L by additional field bus and technology interfaces. The locally available I/O units can be extended by the Rexroth Inline I/O system, just by simply mounting the components side by side. Application programs, including runtime, are completely stored to an easily accessible Compact Flash medium. Observe the support of the selected runtime system and version when selecting the performance class and functionality. The PLC sequential program is principally capable of communicating with all function areas and subsystems of the overall system. The manual describes the functions that can be addressed directly by the PLC sequential program using the PLC operands. These interfaces between the PLC and the NC are configured in the input/output area within the IndraLogic using the configurator of the IndraLogic programming interface. Each interface can be configured individually.
