Autodesk Centre of Competence for Virtual Design
Autodesk, an American multinational software corporation that makes software for the architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, media, and entertainment industries has collaborated with Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), to set up truly state of the art Design & Innovation Centre.
This will be a central facility intended for use by both under-graduate and post-graduate students and faculty members of Dayananda Sagar University. Both DSU and Autodesk will also undertake short term courses for industry in the areas of CAD/CAM/CAE & 3D printing in Architecture, Engineering and Construction domain.
This design & innovation center has 16 state of the art graphics workstations with multiple licenses of the entire suite of Autodesk softwares running on them. These includes Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Alias Studio, Autodesk Revit Architecture, Autodesk Revit Structure and Autodesk Revit MEP.
This facility will help in developing innovative design skills among our students and to create a sustained pool of skilled manpower in the country. Both Autodesk and DSU will work together to proactively create training modules on latest design technologies, in particular for the Mechanical, Civil and Aeronautical disciplines.
Students at DSU will also receive access to the global Autodesk Student Engineering and Design Community portal to download the free software they need to bring their designs to life. The student community also allows students and faculty to stay updated with the latest 3D design technologies and industry best practices, engage with other students around the world on design projects, and even search for career opportunities.
This centre will focus on providing hands on training to the students and faculty members in the Virtual Design techniques. Candidates after successful training will be offered a joint completion certificate by Autodesk and DSU-Autodesk Centre.
