PREAMBLE

Centre for Gender Studies and Inclusivity (CGSI) is established to foster an inclusive academic environment dedicated to the exploration and understanding of gender issues. Recognizing the complex interplay of gender with various social, cultural, political and economic factors, the Centre aims to promote scholarly research, advocacy, and education to challenge stereotypes, eliminate gender-based discrimination, and advance gender equality.

AIM

The aim of the Centre for Gender Studies and Inclusivity (CGSI) is to serve as a dynamic hub for the generation and dissemination of knowledge on gender issues, to inspire and equip individuals and communities to actively engage in the pursuit of gender equality, and to contribute to the shaping of a society where all individuals, regardless of gender, can achieve their full potential.

  • To conduct interdisciplinary research on gender issues.
  • To disseminate knowledge and raise awareness about gender equality.

WHY IT IS FORMED

The Centre for Gender Studies and Inclusivity (CGSI) is formed in response to the ongoing global and local challenges related to gender inequality. By creating a dedicated space for scholarly inquiry and community engagement, the Centre aims to address the root causes of gender disparities and promote a more equitable society. The Centre recognizes that gender issues intersect with various dimensions of identity and seeks to explore these intersections through rigorous research and active advocacy.

  • Interdisciplinary Research: Conducting comprehensive studies that integrate insights from various fields such as sociology, psychology, anthropology and political science to understand gender dynamics.
  • Education and Training: Developing curriculum and training programs aimed at promoting gender awareness and sensitivity across different sectors.
  • Policy Advocacy: Influencing and shaping policies that promote gender equality through evidence-based research and recommendations.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborating with local communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to address gender issues at the grassroots level.

SCOPE

The scope of the Centre for Gender Studies and Inclusivity (CGSI)encompasses academic research, public education, policy analysis, and community outreach. The Centre will operate both within the academic institution and in collaboration with external partners to achieve its objectives.
