CSCU Training Workshop on Cybersecurity
The School of Computer Applications conducted a 3-day Certified Secure Computer User (CSCU) workshop from March 31 – April 2, 2026, in collaboration with Cynux ERA and EC-Council. Led by Mohammed Tousif, the workshop provided II Sem BCA “B” students with practical training in ethical hacking, cybersecurity, malware, social engineering, Kali Linux tools, password security, and data recovery. The program enhanced students’ cybersecurity awareness, technical skills, and industry readiness.
Placement Training by Anudip Foundation – MCA IV Sem
The School of Computer Applications, in association with the Training and Placement Cell, conducted an 18-day Placement Training Programme for MCA 4th Semester students from April 1–18, 2026. Delivered by Anudip Foundation with sponsorship from Dell Technologies, the programme focused on web development, data visualization, problem-solving, and interview skills. Through hands-on and industry-oriented training, students enhanced their technical knowledge, confidence, and placement readiness.

The School of Computer Applications conducted a 3-day Certified Secure Computer User (CSCU) workshop for BCA II Sem “C” students from April 6–8, 2026, in collaboration with Cynux ERA and EC-Council. Led by Mohammed Tousif, the workshop covered ethical hacking, cybersecurity, malware, social engineering, Kali Linux tools, password security, and data recovery. The programme provided practical exposure, enhanced cybersecurity awareness, and strengthened students’ technical and certification readiness.
Ethnika’26 – Inter-Collegiate Cultural Festival
The School of Computer Applications, in collaboration with Student Affairs, DSU, organized “Ethnika’26” on April 7, 2026, under the theme “Celebrate Diversity, Unleash Creativity.” The event featured competitions such as Dance, Rangoli, and Fashion Show, showcasing cultural diversity and student talent. With enthusiastic participation and smooth coordination, the festival promoted creativity, teamwork, and cultural unity. SCA students secured first place in the Dance Competition, making the event a memorable success.
Parent-Teacher Meeting
The Parent–Teacher Meeting (PTM) for BCA II Semester (Sections A, B & C) and B.Sc Data Science students was conducted on April 11, 2026, at the DSU Kudlu Gate Campus. The meeting focused on students’ academic progress, MSE-1 performance, attendance, assignments, and fee status. Parents participated through offline, online, and phone modes, enabling effective interaction with class advisors. The session strengthened parent–teacher communication, addressed academic concerns, and highlighted the importance of parental involvement in students’ overall development and academic success.

Mega Blood Donation Drive – 2026
The School of Computer Applications, in collaboration with Student Affairs, DSU, organized the “Mega Blood Donation Drive 2026” on April 16, 2026, at Canopy Hall, DSU City Campus under the theme “Give Blood, Give Life.” The drive promoted awareness of voluntary blood donation and community service. 76 SCA students and faculty members actively participated, donating blood under safe medical supervision. The collected blood units were contributed to CDSIMER and the Red Cross Society, supporting healthcare services and patients in need.

Soft Skills Training – BCA and B.Sc Data Science II Sem
The Placement Team organized a Soft Skills Training Program for BCA II Semester and B.Sc Data Science II Semester students on April 23, 2026. Conducted by professional trainers from Atom, the programme focused on aptitude, communication, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Through interactive sessions, assessments, and practical activities, students improved their confidence, communication abilities, and readiness for future placement training.
IoT Bootcamp
The School of Computer Applications, DSU, organized a 4-day IoT Bootcamp from April 27–30, 2026, for 2nd-year BCA students at the DSU Innovation Campus. Conducted by experts from ParuvathaiPayir Sei, the programme provided hands-on training in IoT fundamentals, Arduino programming, hardware implementation, Firebase integration, and web interface development. Around 120 students participated, developing real-world IoT projects and showcasing their prototypes in a final exhibition, enhancing their technical, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Faculty Achievements
SG Sumana from the School of Computer Applications published the research paper “Mpox Risk Forecasting: Integrating Neural Networks and Public Sentiment Analysis” in April 2026. The work, indexed in Scopus, was completed in collaboration with faculty members from SCA and SOE.
SG Sumana also published the paper “An Adaptive LSB-Based Video Steganography Framework with Blockchain-Enabled Verification for Secure Multimedia Communication” in a reputed Q2 journal in April 2026, marking another significant research achievement.
Haripriya R received a Certificate of Reviewing from an Elsevier journal for successfully completing manuscript reviews between March and April 2026, recognizing her contribution to academic research and peer review activities.

IOT Boot Camp 2026
The School of Computer Applications (SCA), Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) successfully conducted the IoT Boot Camp 2026 for BCA IV Semester students, providing an intensive hands-on learning experience in IoT, automation, and smart systems development. Over four days, students designed and developed innovative real-world projects including Air Quality Monitoring, Forest Fire Detection, Smart Voting System, Attendance System, Smart Street Light, LPG Gas Detection, Smart Intelligent Wheelchair Motion & Fall Detection, Voice Controlled Smart Home, Water Quality Monitoring, and many more.
The boot camp was enriched by the valuable guidance and technical expertise of the resource persons Er. Rajesh Kannan, Co-Founder & CEO, Paruvathai Payir Sei, and Er. Karthik, Trainer, Paruvathai Payir Sei, whose hands-on mentoring inspired students throughout the project development process. Special appreciation is extended to Dr. S. Senthil, Dean, School of Computer Applications, for his constant encouragement and support in promoting experiential learning initiatives. Heartfelt thanks are also conveyed to Mr. Thousif, CEO & Founder, Cynexera, for his significant contribution, coordination, and continuous support in making the boot camp a grand success.
The event provided students with practical exposure to sensors, embedded systems, cloud integration, teamwork, and innovation-driven problem solving, thereby strengthening their technical and industry-ready skills.
