Welcome to the Department of Aerospace Engineering, School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University.
It gives me pride and pleasure to introduce the Department of Aerospace Engineering. Our department is a newly added feather to the University. We started our journey in 2018 with Under Graduate course in Aerospace Engineering.
Aerospace engineering is the branch of engineering which deals with the design and development of aircraft and spacecraft vehicles. Graduates of the B.Tech. In Aerospace Engineering are trained to undertake challenging work in the Aerospace Engineering Industry, in areas like propulsion systems, aerodynamic design, structural design, avionics, guidance, navigation and control, robotics, rocket and spacecraft trajectories, orbits, etc.
Our department offers a curriculum, based on the choice based credit system. Department offers a large number of elective courses for providing a wide spectrum of options to the students to pursue their interest. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem-solving skills and innovation of new technologies. The course contents are periodically updated for introducing new scientific & technological developments and industry needs.
The Department of Aerospace Engineering has established a Centre of Excellence (CoE) with M/s. Dassault Systems who will be the technology partner, COE for Aerospace & Defence - Government of Karnataka, a knowledge partner and M/s. Dysmech Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. (DCS) as the interfacing partner. The CoE is aimed to strengthen technical education infrastructure to promote industry relevant skill development which will act like a catalyst in inclusive and sustainable industrial development and employment generation for the students. The COE will have the state of the art Labs including Product Design and Development, Flight Physics Validation, Avionics, Virtual Reality, Aerospace Structures Design, Aircraft Systems, and Composites.
