Assistant Professor
Mr. Zunaid Akhtar is an academician and researcher in Computer Science and Engineering with research interests in Deep Learning, Medical Image Analysis, Computer Vision, and Intelligent Healthcare Systems. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, where he is actively involved in teaching, mentoring, and academic activities for undergraduate students.
He has completed his Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, Assam, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science and Engineering from All Saints' College of Technology, Madhya Pradesh.
His academic interests encompass both theoretical and practical aspects of computer science, including Algorithms, Theory of Computation, Operating Systems, Databases, Computer Organization and Architecture, Digital Logic Design, Compiler Design, and Computer Networks. He is passionate about teaching, research, and continuous learning, with a commitment to contributing to quality technical education and innovation-driven research.
His research primarily focuses on medical image segmentation using hybrid CNN–Transformer architectures. As part of his M. Tech dissertation, he proposed ECLF-Net (Edge Cross-Level Fusion Network), a novel framework for boundary-consistent 3D abdominal multi-organ segmentation.
During his postgraduate studies, he served as a Teaching Assistant at NIT Silchar, assisting in laboratory sessions, academic activities, and student mentoring. This experience enhanced his teaching skills and strengthened his understanding of core computer science concepts and their practical applications.
In addition to his academic and research activities, Mr. Akhtar has actively participated in social outreach initiatives and community service programs. He received recognition for his contributions through NGO activities during his time at NIT Silchar.
