Mr. Sukamal Dash
Assistant Professor
Mr. Sukamal Dash is an academician and researcher in Computer Science with strong expertise in Quantum Computing, Cryptography, Machine Learning, and Digital Image Processing. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, where he is actively involved in teaching, research, and academic administration for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
He holds a Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Information Technology from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. His postgraduate research focused on designing a Scalable Patch-Based Quantum Image Encryption Architecture utilizing the Novel Enhanced Quantum Representation (NEQR) model. This research successfully addressed the critical challenge of the quantum circuit-depth bottleneck in NISQ-era simulation environments by optimizing spatial scrambling maps - including the Arnold, Fibonacci, Baker, and Hilbert maps, and developing a Hybrid Quantum-Chaotic Key Generator to establish lossless, highly secure quantum image state mutations.
Prior to joining Dayananda Sagar University, Sukamal served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Jadavpur University. In this role, he was heavily involved in academic mentoring, guiding and assisting Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) students in laboratory environments, coordinating academic exercises, and providing foundational hands-on mentoring. His educational portfolio equips him to teach and mentor students across B.Tech, BCA, and MCA programs.
His research contributions explore the practical implementation of quantum algorithms, and he is actively working to transition his thesis findings into high-impact academic publications. His research interests and recent work explore the intersections of Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Image Processing, and Data Representation Engineering.
With a strong foundation in both classical and quantum computing paradigms, Sukamal is currently planning to pursue his Ph.D. to further deepen his research contributions. He is keen on interdisciplinary and collaborative research, particularly at the intersection of quantum computing, advanced cybersecurity, generative AI, and fundamental intelligent computing systems.
