Ms. Spardha Sahu

Assistant Professor

Prof. Spardha Sahu is an academician and researcher in Computer Science and Engineering with strong expertise in Machine Learning, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Data Science. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, where she is actively involved in teaching, research, and academic administration.

She has completed her M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-Delhi). She also completed her B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus, Bhilai, and holds a strong academic record throughout her schooling, having studied at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Janjgir-Champa (C.G.).

Her areas of expertise include Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, and Database Management Systems (SQL). She is proficient in Shell Scripting, C, C++, HTML, CSS, and Python (including Pandas, NumPy, and Django), and is well versed with tools and platforms such as Jupyter Notebook, VS Code, Git, GitHub, and Figma. She also has hands-on experience with data visualization and analytics tools including Power BI, MS Excel, Seaborn, and Matplotlib.

Spardha's project experience spans machine learning and systems programming. She built a customer churn prediction model for the telecom industry, comparing multiple algorithms such as Decision Trees, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, XGBoost, and CatBoost. She has also worked on landmark selection algorithms for active geolocation systems, including k-Centre Greedy and Entropy Weighted Multi-scale Grid-based Selection (EWMGS), and developed a custom Unix-like shell in C supporting built-in commands, process management, and I/O redirection. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at Intern Studio, where she implemented a German-to-English neural machine translation system using Hugging Face's MarianMT model and PyTorch.

She has served as a Teaching Assistant for Advanced Programming (JAVA) and for Data Structures and Algorithms at IIIT-Delhi. Spardha has qualified GATE twice.
