Assistant Professor
Shivamma D is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Dayananda Sagar University. She completed her M.Tech. from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, Rajasthan. Her academic qualifications are further strengthened by advanced study and certification in Educational Technology.
She has over 12 years of experience in teaching, research, and technical administration. She served as a technical functionary in the India–UK collaborative ICMR & MRC-funded project "cVEDA", a Grand Challenges India initiative at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), an Institute of National Importance under the Government of India. She also worked as an IT Programmer/Data Analyst at the NIMHANS Digital Academy, Virtual Knowledge Network (VKN) under the Centre for Addiction Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, where she contributed to the development of IT and digital infrastructure, blended learning platforms, research initiatives, and capacity-building programs for medical and mental health professionals across the country. Leveraging this experience, she later joined as an IT Officer under the SAMVAD Project, supported by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, at NIMHANS, Bengaluru.
Her research interests include Technology-Enabled Digital Learning, Data Science, Machine Learning, Image Processing, Big Data Analytics, and Data Analysis. She has published more than 20 research papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings and has 7 published patents to her credit, reflecting her active contributions to research, innovation, and interdisciplinary technological advancements.
