Ms. Rumpa Chakraborty is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dayananda Sagar University She completed her Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Distributed and Mobile Computing from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She also holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Calcutta Institute of Technology, Howrah.

Her areas of interest include Distributed Computing, Mobile Computing, Computer Networks, Cloud Computing, Wireless Networks, Computer Graphics, Database Management Systems, and Operating System, in Computer Science.

Her academic and research interests focus on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Computing, Sensor Data Analytics, Intelligent Systems. Her research focuses on step length estimation using smartphone accelerometer data, employing feature engineering, feature selection, and machine learning techniques for human gait analysis, pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR), indoor localization, and intelligent mobile sensing applications.

She has a keen interest in teaching core Computer Science subjects and guiding students in practical and project-based learning. She aims to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications so that students can develop strong analytical, programming, and problem-solving skills.

She is passionate about teaching, research, and continuous learning. She is committed to creating an interactive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, innovation, teamwork, and the practical implementation of technical knowledge.
