Mr. Rohan Naskar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE (Data Science) at Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Bengaluru. He holds an M.Tech in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai, and an Integrated M.Sc. in Mathematics from the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar.
His academic and research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and biometric security. His recent work, conducted in collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), focuses on securing remote identity verification against data injection attacks. By engineering a comprehensive dual-layer forensic architecture, he has developed advanced Morphing Attack Detection (MAD) frameworks that eliminate dataset bias and achieve state-of-the-art detection rates across diverse databases. His ongoing research is dedicated to the development of robust and highly secure biometric verification systems.
Mr. Naskar has also gained substantial hands-on experience through advanced applied projects. He developed and optimized a Transformer-based neural machine translation model for English-to-German text and engineered physical-world adversarial camouflage patches using neural style transfer to evaluate and improve the robustness of image classifiers. His broader technical expertise includes Python, SQL, PyTorch, scikit-learn, OpenCV, Hugging Face Transformers, and a suite of data analysis and visualization tools such as Pandas, Tableau, and Streamlit.
