Dr.Rashmi R is presently working as an Assistant professor in the Biotechnology Department, SBAS, Dayananda Sagar University Bangalore. She has a teaching experience of 11 years. She finished her B.Sc. In Chemistry, Botany and Biotechnology from Bangalore university (2006). She has completed her M.Sc. in Biotechnology in 2008 from Bangalore University. She has gained practical hands-on training on Plant tissue Culture and its different techniques from JIVAS (JAIN UNIVERSITY). Her Doctoral research was on “BIOACCUMULATION OF HEAVY METALS BY TOLERANT BACTERIA ISOLATED FROM INDUSTRIAL SITES OF BENGALURU”. The outcome of research four potent heavy metal accumulating bacterial isolates with PGPR traits was submitted to NCBI. The research work mainly focused on remediation of heavy metal contaminated sites basically worked on agricultural lands irrigated from industrially contaminated rivers and lakes around Bengaluru (Lead, Chromium, Cadmium). The University of Agricultural Sciences gave an opportunity for the studies of Trigonella foenum-graecum and its metal accumulation and remediation to have in-vivo experimental experiences.
