Mr. Priyanshu Patel
Assistant Professor
Priyanshu Patel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science) at Dayananda Sagar University, where he works at the intersection of teaching and applied AI research. His interest in the field grew out of a simple curiosity about how machines can understand data, language, and behaviour, a curiosity that has since shaped both his academic path and the projects he chooses to build.
He completed his M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science) at the National Institute of Technology, Silchar, following a B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from Bihar Engineering University. Over the course of his studies, he moved through a wide range of problems rather than settling into one niche: recognizing human activity from video and sensor data, cloning voices across languages with only a few seconds of audio, retrieving and reasoning over documents using RAG pipelines, and teaching models to paraphrase text naturally. Each project pushed him to work closer to the boundary between research and something people could actually use.
Day to day, he works comfortably across Python, TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, FAISS, and HuggingFace Transformers.. What draws him in most is the applied side of AI, deep learning, computer vision, large language models, and retrieval-augmented generation and figuring out how these ideas hold up outside a notebook.
As he steps into academia, Priyanshu is looking forward to bringing that same hands-on curiosity into the classroom, helping students move past theory and into building things themselves, while continuing to explore new ideas in AI research alongside his teaching at Dayananda Sagar University.
