Assistant Professor

Ms. Pabitra Kundu is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. She completed her Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Information Technology at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata.

Her areas of interest include Distributed Ledger Technologies, Database Management Systems,, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics.

Her postgraduate research focused on the performance analysis of on-chain and off-chain data operations in a decentralized healthcare storage architecture. The work covered blockchain and permissioned blockchain concepts, Hyperledger Fabric architecture, private data collections, access control, data integrity, and on-chain and off-chain data management. It examined the use of on-chain storage for sensitive and confidential healthcare data while identifying the limitations of pure on-chain storage for frequently accessed, and less-sensitive operational healthcare data. Based on these limitations, the research proposed and implemented a hybrid storage model, evaluated multiple off-chain storage systems in terms of performance, and selected the most suitable system for storing operational healthcare data. To further ensure the integrity of the off-chain data and facilitate tamper detection, its SHA-256 cryptographic hash was securely anchored on-chain.

Her technical proficiency includes programming in C++ and Python, database querying using SQL, and data analysis using Pandas and NumPy. Her research publications encompass topics including facial-expression recognition using convolutional neural networks, security and privacy in social-media platforms, and classifier suitability analysis for machine-learning-based heart-disease prediction.

Building on this research experience, she is interested in teaching, research, and the practical applications of computer science. She aims to create an engaging learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and project-based learning.
