Dr. M. Manimaran
Assistant Professor
Dr. M. Manimaran is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) at the School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University (Main Campus), Bengaluru, India. He previously served as a Senior Assistant Professor (Grade–I) and Program Chair – B.Tech CSE (E-Commerce Technology) in the Department of Computing Science and Engineering, VIT Bhopal University, Madhya Pradesh, India. Prior to this, he worked as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, and held key academic leadership roles as Principal and Dean at Sri Sai Bharath College of Arts and Science, Dindigul. His earlier academic appointments include serving as an Associate Professor and Admission Officer at Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, and as an Assistant Professor at SVS College of Engineering, Coimbatore. At the early stage of his academic career, he worked as a Lecturer at Sri Venkateswara College of Computer Applications and Management, VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science, and Angappa College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. He began his professional career in the IT industry as a Software Programmer at Angler Technologies, Coimbatore.
Dr. Manimaran earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Anna University, Chennai, India. He holds an M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from SVS College of Engineering (Anna University), an M.Phil. in Computer Science from Bharathiar University, an MCA from Amrita Institute of Technology and Science, and a B.Sc. in Computer Technology from Mahendra Engineering College. With over 22 years of combined academic, research, and industry experience, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Artificial Intelligence, Computer Networks, Mobile Computing, Software Engineering, Data Structures, Neural Networks, and related computing disciplines.His research interests encompass Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Mobile Computing, Cybersecurity, and Healthcare Analytics. Dr. Manimaran has published 8 papers in Scopus-indexed and other peer-reviewed international journals, 13 papers in international and national conference proceedings, authored multiple book chapters, and published a textbook on Computer Networks. He has also filed and published three Indian patents, primarily in the domains of AI-enabled healthcare systems, intelligent biometric authentication, and IoT-based smart applications.According to his Scopus Author ID (57210759004), Dr. Manimaran’s scholarly contributions are globally indexed and tracked for academic impact. His research output spans journal articles, IEEE and Springer conference proceedings, patents, and book chapters, and he actively maintains a verified ORCID researcher profile, ensuring transparency and continuity of his academic record.In addition to his academic and research contributions.
Dr. Manimaran has held several institutional and national-level responsibilities. He served as the Principal Coordinator for the UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN, a flagship Government of India initiative coordinated by IIT Delhi, contributing to rural development and institutional outreach. He is a Lifetime Member of IAENG (International Association of Engineers), Hong Kong, China. He has also served as an Admission Officer at Nehru Group of Institutions and as an Admission Coordinator at SVS Educational Institutions, Coimbatore, for a period of five years. Furthermore, he acted as an active member of the Examination Committee and NAAC Committee at VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science, and served as the Coordinator of the AICTE Committee in the MCA Department at SVS College of Engineering
