Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Sciences

Mr. Izaaz F is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at the School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University. He obtained his Master of Science in Microbiology with distinction from Bangalore University. He has over four years of combined experience in teaching, research, and industry.

He has taught postgraduate students of M.Sc. Biotechnology and Microbiology, delivering both theoretical lectures and practical laboratory sessions. In addition, he has served as a Mathematics and Science faculty at the high school level, enhancing his foundational teaching skills across multiple disciplines. He is actively involved in student mentoring and academic guidance, helping students strengthen both conceptual understanding and applied skills.

Mr. Izaaz F has research experience as a Research Intern at CNBRCD, where he focused on soil microbiology with special emphasis on Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza (VAM) fungi. His work involved studying soil microbial diversity and the beneficial role of fungi in promoting plant growth and soil health.

In addition to his academic career, he has industry experience as a Quality Control Microbiologist, where he was responsible for microbiological testing, quality assurance, contamination monitoring, and ensuring compliance with laboratory and regulatory standards.

His research interests include genomics, venomics, plant, soil, agricultural and environmental microbiology, as well as sustainable technologies, bridging both fundamental and applied aspects of microbial sciences.

He actively contributes to departmental activities, student mentoring, and academic development initiatives, integrating his research and industry experience to provide students with practical insights into microbiology and biotechnology.
