Prof. G N V Prasad
Professor of Practice
Prof. G. N. V. Prasad obtained his B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electrical Machines. His field of research is (1) Manufacturing of Hi-Rel Space Grade Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and (2) Fabrication & Testing of ON-board electronic packages for Spacecrafts (Both the Facilities Printed Circuit Board Facility & Central Electronic Fabrication Facility is ISO-9001:2008 certified). The major achievements are highlighted as follows:
- Successfully implemented the concept of “P–to–P (Printed Circuit Boards to Packages)” in order to support ISRO Programme of realizing
31 spacecrafts in 33 months- Development of High Count & Fine line pitch complex Multilayer PCBs for Solid State Recorder packages for all IRS missions of ISRO.
- Successfully realized Complex profile Metal Bonded Multilayer PCB for effective Thermal management of HEX package of interplanetary missions
- Development and Productionization of Control Impedance MLBs for High speed electronic circuits (data handling packages).
- Development of a novel technology for Filled & Buried-via MLB technology for HDI applications, an alternate to high-cost conventional laser based blind via technology.
- Development of Rigid-Flex Multilayer PCBs for Sensor Electronic packages.
- Successfully introduced & qualified new Higher-Tg (2100 C), high performance FR4 materials for high reliability Space electronics applications.
- Successfully Produced 84 Electronic packages for Indian Regional Navigational Satellite Systems (IRNSS) in Record time.
He published various papers in different National and International Journal and Conferences as follows:
- "A Braded swell etch Method for enhanced Interface Adhesion in Build-up multilayer circuits" National conference on Electrical Design & Reliability (NCEDAR-2012) December 15-16, 2012.
- "How to Ensure High Reliability in PCBs for Space Use" at the Electronics Rocks 2012 conference August 30 & 31st 2012
