Professor

Dr. Vasanthi Kumari P, currently working as Professor in School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore. She earned her Ph. D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai in the year 2014. Her thesis is on Medical Image Compression which has received comments as highly recommended by the examiners. She has 25 years of teaching experience in reputed engineering colleges. She served as Lecturer in the Department of Computer Applications, at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam and later joined Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. Then she served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology. Before joining DSU, she served as a Professor & Dean, at Ranganathan Engineering College. She was the Chairperson of the Department of Computer Applications, School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University from April, 2016 till June, 2024. She has guided more than 100 BCA, B. Tech, MCA and ME students for their project work.

Under her supervision 5 scholars have completed their Ph. D. Three Ph D scholars are currently pursuing their research.

She has published 36 papers in International Journals indexed by Springer Nature, Scopus, WoS, Google Scholar. 13 in International Conferences, 03 in National Conference.

Her areas of interest are Image Processing, Big Data Analytics and Data Science, Data Structures and Computer Architecture.
