Dr. Sangeetha Gowda K R
Assistant Professor
Dr. Sangeetha Gowda K.R. is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Dayananda Sagar University. With a strong passion for teaching and research, she brings over three years of prior teaching experience from an engineering institution. Dr. Gowda earned her Ph.D. in Industrial Chemistry from Kuvempu University, Karnataka in 2015. Her doctoral research focused on the synthesis of novel macrocyclic ligands and their transition metal complexes, with particular emphasis on their interaction with DNA, including binding and cleavage studies. She holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Chemistry from the same university, where she undertook a project titled “Cyclic Voltammetric Investigations of Dopamine at Mannitol Modified Carbon Paste Electrode.” Additionally, she has gained interdisciplinary research experience through a project on Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pathology at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru. Her research interests encompass a wide range of areas including metal complexes, nanomaterials synthesis, biocompatible materials, wound healing, DNA binding, photocleavage, antimicrobial studies, and waste reuse for value-added applications. Dr. Gowda has contributed to the scientific community through 13 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and 2 book chapters.
