Assistant Professor
Dr. Chinmayee C. V. is a biochemist specializing in protein biology, enzymology, and cell signalling, with a strong background in both academic and industrial research. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, and holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry. With more than 5 years of experience in research and development, her expertise spans protein purification, enzyme kinetics, antibody production, and mammalian and microbial cell culture techniques. She has discovered and characterized two novel proteases and played a key role in the development of enzyme-based products with applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Her interdisciplinary skill set also extends to computational biology, where she integrates biological data with artificial intelligence tools for applications in drug discovery and disease research, including projects focused on Alzheimer’s disease. Beyond laboratory research, Dr. Chinmayee has worked in scientific communications, translating complex findings for diverse audiences, and is passionate about mentorship and science outreach. She has volunteered with the NGO Pratham, engaging in initiatives to strengthen science education for underprivileged communities.
