Assistant Professor

Joydeep Patar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. He has done M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai in 2025 and holds a B.Tech in Information Technology from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.

His primary research interest lies in Graph Theory, particularly in ‘odd coloring of restricted graph classes’—a topic he explored during his M.Tech thesis under the supervision of Professor Dr. Vinod Reddy (IIT Bhilai). His academic training combines strong theoretical foundations with applied computational expertise.

He qualified the GATE 2023 examination in Computer Science with an All India Rank of 2262. He is proficient in C and C++ and has sound knowledge in core computer science domains such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Organization and Architecture, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Cyber Security, Compiler Design, and Blockchain Technology. In the classroom, he emphasizes clarity of concepts, practical understanding, and logical problem-solving.

Outside academics, Joydeep is a state-level badminton player and has represented IIT Bhilai in badminton and athletics at the Inter IIT Sports Meet twice in 2023 and 2024. He is also passionate about cricket, football, and volleyball, and strongly believes in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle alongside his professional commitments.
