Dr.Shristi Ram
Assistant Professor
Dr. Shristi Ram is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the School of Basic & Applied Sciences, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. She has over four years of teaching experience in diverse areas of microbiology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She earned her Master’s degree in Microbiology from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, and pursued her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR), with research carried out at CSIR-Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI), Gujarat. Her doctoral research, titled “Studies on carotenoid production from bacteria isolated from water bodies across Gujarat”, focused on therapeutically significant carotenoids, exploring their applications as probiotics. In addition to her doctoral work, she contributed to an extramural CSIR-800 societal project on algalization to enhance paddy nutrition. Dr. Ram has published 19 research articles, including 10 book chapters, and has been recognized with the CSIR-SRF award and ICAR-NET in Agricultural Microbiology. Her research interests include carotenoids, biopigments, nutraceuticals, natural product chemistry, bioremediation, aqua feed, and sustainable bioprocessing strategies.
