Dr. S. Raguvaran is an accomplished academician and researcher with 15 years and 8 months of overall professional experience, comprising 13 years and 5 months of teaching and academic service along with 2 years and 3 months of industry experience. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, School of Computing, Dayananda Sagar University.

He holds a Ph.D. from Anna University, with doctoral research centered on deep learning–based nutrition recommendation systems for healthcare applications, addressing real-world challenges through intelligent, data-driven methodologies. His academic and research expertise spans Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, Autonomous Systems, and AI-driven Healthcare, with a strong and growing focus on AI for Robotics and Cyber-Physical Systems.

Dr. Raguvaran has contributed extensively to undergraduate and postgraduate education across reputed higher-education institutions, playing key roles in teaching, curriculum delivery, research supervision, academic mentoring, and accreditation activities (NBA/NAAC). His teaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, system-level thinking, real-world problem solving, and industry relevance, preparing students for both research and professional excellence.

His industry background as a Software Developer provides a solid applied foundation, enabling him to bridge theoretical AI concepts with practical engineering systems. This dual exposure to academia and industry strengthens his ability to translate emerging AI technologies into deployable, real-world solutions.

Dr. Raguvaran has authored multiple SCI- and Scopus-indexed journal publications, international conference papers, and book chapters with reputed publishers, and holds a published Indian patent in AI-enabled intelligent systems. His scholarly work has received recognition through citations and interdisciplinary collaborations in areas such as autonomous systems, intelligent transportation, healthcare AI, and computer vision. He has also successfully mentored students for national-level hackathons, innovation challenges, and research projects, resulting in award-winning outcomes.

An active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Dr. Raguvaran engages with the global research community to stay aligned with emerging technological standards and best practices. Beyond teaching and research, he actively contributes to curriculum design, academic benchmarking, laboratory and testbed development, digital academic profiling initiatives, and interdisciplinary program building, aligned with emerging paradigms such as Industry 4.0/5.0, autonomous intelligence, and responsible AI.
