Dr. Pronama Biswas
Assistant Professor
Dr. Pronama Biswas is an Assistant Professor of Genetics at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, and Co-Head of the SynTech Bio Solutions Research Lab. Her research integrates molecular genetics, cancer biology, nanomedicine, and computational biology, with a particular focus on QSAR-guided drug discovery, synergistic nanoparticle delivery, and bio-nanotechnology for therapeutic innovation. She has successfully led projects on green protein extraction, plant extract-loaded nanomedicines, and portable electrospinning devices for wound healing.
Dr. Biswas earned her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from IIT Madras under Prof. Rama S. Verma, where she discovered novel nitric oxide–mediated mechanisms in Fanconi anaemia, linking nitrosative stress, autophagy dysregulation, and cancer predisposition. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to cutting-edge computational and experimental studies on cancer targets, neuroinflammation, and host–parasite interactions. She also holds patents in genetic data encoding and green protein extraction technologies. Alongside her research, she is a passionate educator and mentor, training undergraduate and postgraduate students in advanced genetics and molecular biology.
