Scamurais

The School of Commerce and Management at Dayananda Sagar University successfully organized an engaging and educational event titled “Scamurais” on October 30, 2025. This initiative was meticulously designed to enhance financial literacy, fraud awareness, and financial decision-making skills among undergraduate students (UG) of the School of Commerce and Management Studies (SCMS). Recognizing the growing importance of financial vigilance and informed decision-making in modern financial environments, the event aimed to provide students with a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience. Through a series of interactive activities, case-based discussions, and real-world scam simulations, participants were able to deepen their understanding of financial fraud mechanisms, preventive strategies, and ethical financial behaviour.

The event featured dynamic tasks and scenario-based modules that replicated real-world financial challenges, encouraging students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations.

These activities promoted critical thinking, analytical skills, and awareness of contemporary financial scams and risk-mitigation practices. A total of 49 students participated in this event. The competition concluded with outstanding performances by several teams. First prize was awarded to Roja B, Akash Pious, Vibha Bhat, Kusum Seervi, Harsh Antony P, and Karya D. Second prize was secured by two groups: Shivani, Neha R, Tanya Singh, Aryan Rajesh, and Birendra Abhiram, and a second group consisting of Prerana G, Abhinaya D, Balamurugan, Inchara, Kanchan Kumari, and Sirisha N.
